I ran across the book, "Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?: An Easy Plan for Losing Weight and Living More by Peter Walsh, at the library a few weeks ago. It was a great book on CD to find and listen to in the car especially since I'm looking for ways to maintain my recent weightloss (27 pounds, thank you very much.) This guy, Peter Walsh, is on to something. He is a de-clutter expert and he has noticed that people who get their houses in order often experience weightloss as a side benefit. What a wonderful two-pronged approach to a new year! So, look right and see my newly cleaned and organized spice cabinet. I wish I had thought to take a picture before I started! It was crammed with bulk spices in plastic bags all stuck into baskets so you couldn't see anything. Now I have everything I possibly can in glass or tin, clearly marked and easy to find. AND check out that top shelf with actual empty space on it!!! And you know, I started this right when I was thinking, "What can I eat?" Before I knew it I had accomplished this, I hadn't eaten anything, and I'm now ready to use all these glorious spices in the healthy cooking I'm looking forward to this coming week (month, year, lifetime!!) Check out the book, clean out a cupboard, closet, or basement, and get healthy, finally, in 2010. Also check out my favorite spice company based right here in the Milwaukee area: http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/shophome.html There are several locations, a catalog for ordering, and the freshest, best spices to perk up your healthy diet. |
