Message from the Director - Mary McCluskey - 10/18/08

I have been receiving periodic check-ins from graduates and others interesed in the school as to how we are doing.  So here it is:  We are doing great!  We just started our largest class ever, 11 new students in the new night class.  And its a wonderful group of diligent and enthusiastic people.  The economy downturn is a good thing for us because many people are interested in changing careers and/or finally doing what they want to do.  In addition, our massage services have not dropped off at all as people are still stressed and pained and needing bodywork to facilitate their health. And we are celebrating one of our main instructors, Alesia Streff, who gave birth on September 30th to a beautiful 9 pound baby girl, Taylor Marie!

And here is the view I see everyday as I walk my dogs!  The leaves have been spectacular.  Within the last week I planted 90 daffodils and 30 hyacinths outside.  A few weeks ago I planted 30 hyacinths, 50 tulips, and 10 daffodils inside and they are safely tucked away in their refrigerators in my basement.  Now is the time to plant bulbs inside for forcing in January and February or outside to enjoy in May and June.  You can sit around and wring your hands and damage your health worrying about the news or you can get busy enjoying the natural world all around you for free!  Life will go on no matter what and you can choose to be a part of it!
