Message from the Director - Mary McCluskey - 2/26/08

This past weekend my colleague and fellow teacher here at WSMT, Jennifer Morgan, and I attended the American Massage Therapy Association Wisconsin Chapter February Continuing Education Event.  It featured David Kent, a nationally known massage educator and innovator.  We were asked to be teaching assistants for the workshop.  It was well attended with over 80 members participating.

We enjoyed the comaraderie, excellent review of anatomy and technique to alleviate muscular trigger points related to headache, and a chance to get to know David Kent better.  We've come away with a few tweaks to our teaching as well.  In addition, Jennifer and I have decided to take on the job of Co-Chairs of the Education Committee for the AMTA-WI Chapter.  It should prove to be an interesting experience.

Changes you'll see at the school as a result of this workshop:  Posture charts and plumb lines installed to better analyze clients' posture.  Below you will see us with David Kent.  Today's recommendation:  Take a class of any kind to get re-energized and excited about trying some new things!  Great idea for spring!
