Composting is what I'm about today.  Take a look at my wonderfully easy composter there in the photo at the right!  My husband was going to discard 2 old, rusty window wells but he saw a use for them.  He bolted two together then positioned half of an old plastic screen-like thingy from some overhead lights in the middle and waalaa!  Homemade, repurposed compost bin!

Now I throw all fruit/veggie scraps into the right side until it is full.  Then I will begin filling the other side.  The worms will finish the composting job on the right and then they will travel through the screen to the other side and begin there!  It will take at least 6 months to fill the first side because the worms are working and almost as fast as I throw it in, they eat it up.

Many people think composting is really difficult.  I have heard of people who have these rotating contraptions and they have to put some kind of "starter" they buy into it.  It doesn't have to be very complicated!  Find a place outside to make a container and start throwing the stuff in.  It will decompose into the most beautiful soil amendment.  I just treated my whole garden to a 3 inch layer of the stuff.  My tomatoes and flowers will thank me next year.

I've just posted a date for the next Applied Ethics 101 for Bodyworkers Continuing Education class.  I've also listed our new "Refer Out With Confidence" class.  Why not join us for one of these offerings?   Also, very soon I will be scheduling Fascial Yielding, a very exciting opportunity to expand your massage skills.  It's looking like January will be the time for this.

Meet green toad on the left.  He is fat because he has been living inside the tubes of my wind chimes.  He comes out at night to eat bugs and he sleeps all day in the protection of a tube. This rare day he decided to get fresher air by plopping down onto the plant below the wind chimes.  The brown one must be a buddy coming to visit!
