I'm newly back from my Fascial Yielding seminar in North Dakota.  It was a great weekend with a great group of therapists from North Dakota and Canada.  I think it's cool that I can say I attract an "international" audience!!

We spent Friday evening learning about fascia and the latest research that is being done in the medical field.  Fascia used to be the stuff anatomists just cut away to get to the "real" structures.  Now we know it comprises an entire body system in its own right.  It is the connective tissue that not only connects everything, but actually holds us up!  Fascia provides us our structure and bones are the spacers in between.  Wow, what a change of perspective.

On Saturday and Sunday we learned how to work with the fascial system specifically.  These days gave us a lot of new tools to add to the massage therapy toolbox.  Fascial work warms, softens, and elongates tightened tissue.  It is great to use before going in to deeper, therapeutic trigger point work.

The class was so happy with the workshop that I am invited back in March for part two:  Lower Body Techniques.  I'm praying for no North Dakota blizzards in March!

If you are a Wisconsin therapist and you are intrigued by Fascial work, we are offering this very class here in Germantown in January, 2010.  If you sign up by December 10th you will receive a discount.  Space is limited so take a look soon if you want in!  See the Continuing Education section for more information.

We just did a big mailing to our graduates.  I hope to see some familiar faces returning for this class!
