Hey all you WSMT graduates!  How about a free continuing education class worth several hundred dollars?!  The AMTA is offering their scholarship contest again.  This last year VERY FEW PEOPLE ENTERED which means if you had written a little ditty it could easily have been you! 

Are you nervous about the prospect?  We are here to help!  WSMT will be glad to offer editing/revising feedback to any graduate interested in entering.  Mary McCluskey, WSMT Director, won the contest several years ago.  She is here to help you!  Email to:  info@wsmt.org.  Otherwise just forward your simple, 1-page essay explaining the value of continuing education to Dorothy below.  That's it!

Excellent Volunteer Opportunity – Don't Miss This!
  Core/El Centro is a not-for-profit natural healing center for the underserved and low-income.  A variety of bodywork and movement classes are offered with prices based on a sliding fee scale.  They have a waiting list for massage services.  Check out their website www.core-elcentro.org and feel free to call and talk to WSMT's director, Mary McCluskey who has become a volunteer at Core/El Centro.  Car pool opportunities are a possibility!

Practitioner Case Report Contest                                                      
 

The Massage Therapy Foundation invites practitioners to participate in a case report designed to "provide an opportunity for masssage therapists and bodyworkers to develop research skills and enhance their ability to provide knowledge-based massage to the public."  Awards include cash (grand prize $2500) and publication of the report.  Submission deadline is in October each year.  WSMT encourages graduates to submit a report!  Call us if you would like help with this project.
